His musicals have an immersive quality that has garnered multitudes of fans and myriads of awards. He grasps the upper hand for passion’s sake, But even he must recognize love’s truth, Despite heartache. The Phantom’s latest play Is brought to stage His mask is torn away To fear and rage. Christine believed she heard an angel sing, But now she sees the Phantom’s just as mad As ravishing. The opera owners won’t Obey the ghost And soon see, when they don’t, He’s felt the most.
